Abi Clarke
In the past,
i.e. the early 2020s, comedians could be envisioned spending the next few years
touring across the UK in stand-up comedy, before being invited onto a
television panel show and then selling the arena tour. It's not easy right now.
Comedy is a form of art that can continue to be performed before an audience in
person. However, we won't have arena shows anytime coming. However one Bristol
comedian has found a global audience through a the social media lockdown. Abi
Clarke was not planning out to become an internet superstar. Abi, 24 is from
Henbury, and began posting videos online "to create a network of people
who enjoy my standup comedy." "I was performing a lot in Devon to
males who were in their 50s and were not as enthusiastic about my Love Island
Sims and Twilight references, so I decided to look online for younger women who
could love my stand-up routine." Abi, who lives in Hen bury with her
parents has continued to post her videos on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She
draws inspiration from many sources, such as conversations with strangers, chat
room, and writes down her thoughts on her phone.
