Courtney Thorne-Smith Bio

American actor Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8th in 1967). Her roles include Alison Parker in Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal, Cheryl In According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy's character on Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Her father, Walter Smith, was an expert in market research using computers as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapist. They separated at the age of seven. Courtney was seven years old, and she was with both parents at various stages. She has an older sister named Jennifer who works as an executive in the field of advertising. She attended Menlo-Atherton high school located in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in 1985. While in the high school, she also participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith's first movie appearance was in the 1986 movie drama Lucas. She was joined by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim), and Charlie Sheen. In the 80s, she appeared in a number of films like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). She appeared alongside Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, the Chairman of the Board. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith was a lover of Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen boyfriend from Melrose Place. The actress got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad in June 2000. They split in 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group, marketing company) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. At 40 years old, she gave birth on January 11 in 2008 to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
