Adamari Lopez
Adamari Lopez Torres, a Puerto Rican actress, was born May 18th 1971. She is famous for her role in a variety of soaps and dramas from Mexico and Puerto Rico. She is currently the host on the Telemundo morning program Hoy Dia and is a Latina ambassador for WW previously known as Weight Watchers. As the daughter of an undertaker, Luis Lopez, Adamari started her career at the age of six, in the Telemundo Canal 2 production of the Cristina Bazan soap opera. She was a part of the cast, including the legendary Puerto Rican actress Johanna Rosaly and Venezuelan singer Jose Luis Rodriguez, El Puma. Her talent was a sign of a future famous actress. WAPA-TV selected her role to be Iris Chacon's and Daniel Guerrero's daughter in Yo se que mentia. The character of a child actor in the story was vital and she soon became famous. A short, two chapter appearance on Vivir Para Ti followed in 1983, and after that, Lopez decided to dedicate her time to studying. She holds an B.A. in communications at the University of the Sacred Heart. When she reached maturity, she came back and was a part of several plays in Puerto Rico's Teatro Tapia, San Juan's oldest and most famous theater, as well as attracting the attention of Mexican producers. She traveled to Mexico next, after the invitation by the producers to audition there and become a star in the country too performing in numerous top soap operas, including Camila and the super-hit national show Amigas y Rivales. Lopez also participated in Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real, where she played a victim in a sexual assault that turned out to be into a lesbian. Lopez was also the wife of Luis Fonsi, a Puerto Rican singing superstar.
